Last Call for CAP2 Cover Requests

phase2

We are getting ready for the 2nd phase of CAP2. We have used your ideas in making many of the Action scripts but I would like to make one final last call in case there is anything else. I’m sure there is.

Based on your previous requests and ideas, these are the categories:

  • Binders & Notebooks (Includes Comb Bound Books)
  • Boxes (Includes Boxes with CD’s)
  • Bundles & Full Courses
  • Cards & Brochures (Stationary)
  • CD Discs
  • DVD Covers
  • Hardback Books
  • Magazines & Reports
  • Paperback Books
  • Screenshots
  • Web Graphics (MP3 graphics, Ads, Post-it notes etc.)

I’ve panned for 10 Actions in each set. If you do have a request, please try to keep them in the sections above if possible.

Is there a special prespective or cover you have seen? Post the link in a comment here and I’ll take a look at it. What would be your dream bundle Action or Book? Post it here. I usally like to surprise CAP users with refreashing new covers, and trust me there are many you have not seen yet. BUT I would still like to leave a chance for your input. Just remember YOU will be using the software, so it needs to fit your needs as much as possible.

CAP2 is not some Mickey Mouse Action script package that you normally find on the web. With planning and production, so far, has been over one year in the making. We also need “Standards” in this industry. That is why most Actions found in the CAP2 set fit the same size as standard book and paper sizes like 6 x 9, 8.5 x 11 and common screen sizes for screenshot presentation actions. This way there is less work on your part trying to fit your tangible book into an awkward template size that doesn’t work. Covers also need to fit any color background, and transparent borders are applied to white colored covers, because without them the edges will be lost. Making one Action compatible in 3 different versions of Photoshop. There’s more. Many factors go into the creation process of these scripts to make sure you end up with the most versatile and flexible covers for your business.

CAP is not just online anymore. Keep a lookout for a truck driving by with a full poster ad that contains a book. It just might be a CAP cover :-) . True Story.

I’m looking forward to your input on the styles of covers you want to have. I’ll be reading your comments.

Thanks!
-Mark

  1. Valentino Salvato says:

I have only one request. I’d like all the cover graphics to fit perfectly into an A4 size paper as well, without losing any quality. Hope this is possible. Best Regards.

  2. Would love to have a 3-ring binder set up. Can you do varying thicknesses too? 1″, 2″, 3″ versions?

Binders that have inserts in the front, spine, and back — these are used frequently for workbook style info products.

    Thanks!
    Sherri :-)

  3. Ken Krueger says:

Can you give us any info on reselling this?
    Are you using Paydotcom?

    Thanks,
    Ken

  4. Oh, just thought of one more thing. I don’t believe this is in any of your listed categories - but it would be great to have some packaging items set up in Actions.

I’m thinking about those tubular envelopes - they’re flat to start, but the oval ends fold in to create an oval pocket - usually to hold small items inside. You typically see these at weddings, but they do come in a variety of sizes and could hold larger products.

Also, gift bags. Even the kraft bags with stiff rope handles, and you put your logo or some other design on the face of the bag or have it wrap around.

Plastic bag packaging. There’s a toughy to represent. The shape of the bag is more boutique looking - a firm triangle/pyramid (as in the type of material you’d use for holding Chinese food). But the transparency of the bag — that would be cool to set up, add graphics on the front of the bag, yet allow to see through to product included underneath/inside the bag.

    Thanks!
    Sherri :-)

  5. webgoddess says:

    Hey Mark,

Glad to hear you’re getting closer to launch. :)

Please make the scripts work with CS4…I just upgraded recently and I’m liking it a lot.

    I like Sherri’s suggestions.

Some MP3 and other digital product/service actions would be great; I see you put MP3 in the list already. With services it’s often relegated to a generic “box” so it would be nice to have a “service” type of image.

Anyway keep up the good work :)

    Cheers,
    webgoddess

  6. Lester says:

A thin, vertical magazine/report would be very useful for representing short e-books or short paperback books or reports. This apparent thickness would be similar or less than the thickness of the current ezine action, and the orientation would be similar to the current Book-Paperbacck2 action.

  7. John Bradshaw says:

All of these requests just guarantee that the CAP2 will be further delayed. What is the big deal in just releasing the covers that were promised months ago, and then releasing a supplement of additional covers later for a modest fee?

At this rate, Photoshop CS5 will be released before CAP2.

  8. Daniel says:

Would like to see bottle templates (i.e. wine, lotions, etc.)

  9. Adam Taha says:

Woohooo! I can’t wait for CAP2. Awesome mate! Just awesome! I need it for my comic book I am doing for real.

I think you covered it all. Can’t for this one!

  10. Adam Taha says:

Oh yeah. Forgot. How about some affilate program, so we can sell this to our network of buddies?

Also, how about Can drinks, bottle drinks.

  11. Victoria says:

On the one hand, I like John Bradshaw’s point of the delay. We have been waiting a long time. However, I trust that whenever CAP2 comes out it will be compatible with the latest Photoshop version.

Regardless, I am not upgrading to anther version of Photoshop until CAP2 is released (I currently am still on Photoshop 7 with CAP1).

  12. My challenge has been to create content that will fit the spaces especially spine art. I am not an expert but I guess a list of dimensions.

If you already have this, thanks for a super product.

  13. Ditto on Affiliate program.

  14. jon says:

Web Graphics: torn ads from newspaper/paper, used for proof elements(clickbank statements, shoppingcart, etc…) and product testimonials/reviews instead of just a normal table border

Bundles and Full Courses: make sure there are cd/dvd courses with dvds presented halfway out the case and also action script with cds/dvds presented in front of the cases as well.

    Email me for more details.

    Thanks.

  15. Marci says:

Maybe one for telephone coaching or tele-seminars…

somethig with a phone in it would be cool and I think a lot of people would use it..

    Thanks,

    Marci

  16. Hi Mark,

One feature that I´ve been looking for a long time is the
option to show either facing left or facing right.

This would be a killer feature that would set your product way ahead of the competition.

    Hope it helps!

    Paulo

  17. Wendy says:

    Hi Mark,

I like the idea that Jon says - the torn ads from newspaper. That is a good one. And Sherri has some excellent ideas as well. Your CAP2 looks great though…and the sooner we get it the better!!

    Waiting Patiently….

    Wendy

  18. Jim says:

    Dear Mark,

    Much desired features:

    1. Varying thicknesses: 1″, 2″, 3″ versions on all products, but especially paperback book.

I urgently need a 2 or 3″ paperback book action (Bible Thickness) for a technical/training manual for lawyers. (Urgent because my national attorney network is the only one of it’s kind helping the homeowner victims of predatory mortgage lending and stopping wrongful foreclosures… national financial crisis.)

    2. Facing left or facing right.

    3. Two-Tiered Affiliate program/ Reseller site

    4. Animated (simple revolving books: very slow, slow, and medium speeds)

    -Jim

  19. John Bradshaw says:

Building on Jim’s excellent idea, how about an 8-track cartridge cover that revolves to the left and to the right?

I would like the option to spin in 6 degree increments to mimic the second hand of a clock.

  20. Standing up magazine cover
    Website page
    DVD case 4 pack
Series of say 4 DVD’s spread flat

  21. Mark says:

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I’ll do my best to make sure we include these perspectives, but some of these specialized graphics mentioned will probably be sold as separate Packs for individual download.

John B. and Webgoddess :: CAP2 is already compatible with CS4. If Adobe releases CS5 the day after CAP2 then an update will be posted accordingly. Right now ‘older’ versions of PS are more of an issue. There are more users behind then updated. I’m going as far back to version CS2 as a minimum requirement. This allows everyone to get caught up while still enjoying the product.

Sherri G. :: Are you talking about those Pocket Envelopes that close with a string around a circle? Do you have an example image you can share? I like the Paper bag ideas, but then again these scripts may be sold as specialized packs.

Sherri G. :: You can add any graphic you want to the side of a Ring Binder. Will this work?

Valentino S :: You mean Action Covers that will accommodate A4 document sizes? I can do that. Just to clarify the size: 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 inch. For those of you that do not know what A4 is, it’s used in Europe, and rest of the world, except the US.

Ken K :: I haven’t planned on doing a JV setup or anything as it’s really not my thing, but I can create an Affiliate signup for services that will except PayPal and CC if that’s what you are looking for. We will not be using Paydotcom.

Lester :: We have you covered.

Daniel and Adam T :: These are also more specialized. May I ask, are you creating and selling drinks? or is it for presenting your art work to clients that create drinks and lotion?

Adam Taha :: What size are your comic books?

    David R :: Great idea.

Jon :: Proof Elements I can do. This can be included into the Web Graphics category.

Marci :: Thanks for the suggestions

Paulo P :: Thanks. I’ll post a video that will show how this can be done with the current Actions you have now. There may be a way to automatically flip the covers. Would anyone else be interested in this?

Please keep the comments coming as I’m making my notes now. I’ll be returning to reply to more recent comments as we go.

    Thanks!
    -Mark

  22. Seems like most are covered here.
I tried to make an action to save in 3 commonly used
    sizes as jpg.
Is this sort of thing possible?
Also, automation to create banners in common sizes also.
This would be fiddly but they do take some time to change for the different sizes and asppects.
If this were possible, then templates that fitted with the action would be needed also.

  23. Damon Thornton says:

I believe Sherri G. was talking about pillow boxes, which is a great idea to incorporate into CAP2.

You can see an example at

    http://www.uline.com/BL_5619/Pillow-Boxes

No trying to promote their site, just happens to be where I have purchased mine in the past.

  24. Hi Mark,

How about a waist-up figure reading the book or binder?

    Best,

    Lucky Balaraman

  25. Bob says:

Your work is excellent. However many of the covers have a ‘jaunty’, ‘fun’ look and it would be VERY useful to have some ’staid’, ’steady’ versions, suitable for a business report. I’m not looking for completely new covers, just sedate versions of existing ones. ‘The Corporate Pack’ perhaps.

  26. T. says:

    Hi,

    I cant´t wait to get CAP2!!!

How about some actions for 360°-panoramic photos (can, cube, tube, ….)?

  27. Mike says:

Wondering if simple apparel would be possible. T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, Hoodie, Cap, Jacket?

  28. Rob says:

How about Maps, Scrolls, and Parchment? Both ancient looking and current.

  29. webgoddess says:

Another quick suggestion: for CDs and DVDs, instead of having the big hole in the middle can you make a small hole? Some discs waste the inner 1.5 inches for a plastic ring, but newer discs allow printing the disc label all the way to the inner .5 inch ring.

    - Webgoddess

  30. Steven says:

Now, I haven’t read through all the comments, so maybe someone has already touched on this… but what about an action that allows the final cover to be reversed? Currently the covers I’ve created are good for positioning on the left side… could a solution be provided so that the covers could have a right side option?

  31. One more that would be excellent is a magazine. Lying flat with two pages open. Left hand page lifted up in the middle from the desk surface.

  32. Sarah H says:

I second the request for an open magazine lying flat on a desk, and also a open magazine standing up.

  33. Colin says:

    Yowza!

    Can’t wait :o)

  34. Riggie says:

    CAP2 looks fantastic so far.

It would be great if you could create some more high quality website header banners… that makes is easy for us to simply merge in photos and text to create great looking banners for our sites. I own the Instant header Pack. An advanced version would be great….

  35. Brad Ruggles says:

HUGE fan of your work and the CoverAction Pro set. Use it all the time.

My only input would be (and this may have already been mentioned) could there be actions for different thinckness books? Say, maybe one for a 100 page, 250 page and a 500 page?

Another idea would be to create an action set for a tri-fold or bi-fold brochure. Similar to this mock-up I made for a brochure I had designed - http://www.bradruggles.com/images/brochure-20090126-094128.jpg

By the way, you can see several of your actions at work in my portfolio at http://www.RugglesCreative.com/portfolio.pdf.

    Looking forward to CAP 2.0!

  36. Doug Smith says:

I’ll second the option for CDs and DVDs to have a smaller center hole. It would be nice to also choose whether or not to have the outside edge ring show. All of my products use hub printable media. Those only leave a 22mm hole unprinted and print all the way to the edge of the disc. Here’s an example:

    http://www.verbatim.com/products/detail.cfm?product_id=19CEEFC3-30F2-4C10-9F9B4AE9C3EDDDA4&cat_id=7CA8481A-AA65-482E-991CD8C4156EA2D3

I also wouldn’t mind seeing some alternate CD packages. In particular, I have products using the popular TrimPak poly cases. Here’s a couple examples:

    http://www.verbatim.com/products/detail.cfm?product_id=C1A11FA3-1306-406D-B75A4484EFB57178&cat_id=D8CE705D-1143-3415-5F546AD036F5F477

    http://www.univenture.com/acatalog/11069_2.jpg

Everything else I’d like I have mentioned before and you’ve said in the FAQ they were covered. I’m really looking forward to it! (As the only person mentioned by name in the FAQ, I’d be happy to beta test on all of my products if you’d like.) :-)

  37. Matt says:

    Mark,

I would also like to be able to “flip” the covers to face right for each of the actions. This is something I was thinking about just the other day. It seems No One is doing this yet. Or at least, I haven’t found the actions that do.

I also second the idea for a header action. I’m kind of surprised there isn’t one planned already. Also, how about footers, membership cards, order buttons, etc. Basically, I think you should have actions that would allow us to create the graphics for a mini-site template. Let me track down some links for you to get a better idea of what I’m talking about.

Well, after searching around for awhile the best examples I could find are located in a WSO at:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/6277-very-cheap-ecover-minisite-design-limited-time-offer-get-same-price-after-warrior-special-offer.html

Don’t worry, this isn’t a competing product. Just someone creating graphics for people, probably using some of your current actions (or actions from imitators).

I think the biggest thing people would like is the ability to have the graphics face either direction. This is something that I cannot believe hasn’t been done already. I know we can “flip” images, but that doesn’t give the desired effect.

Thanks for all your help, tutorials, etc. The’ve helped me tremendously over the years.

    Peace & Prosperity,
    Matt Fulger

  38. The only thing I would love to see is the shadows look more of realistic as possible when the products lay on each other

  39. Will the price be lower for the people wh o already bought the first one? And how about 2 shirts

  40. Hi Mark,

You deserve a commendation :) for listing to your costumers.

    Wish you all the success,
    Paulo

  41. David says:

bottles of all sorts: glass, plastic, metal
    cans/cylinders/jars: glass, plastic, metal

  42. Boxes with DVDs sticking out of the top that can be imported from CAP DVD design action scripts. This would be a great touch. Give the option of between 2 and 10 DVDs sticking out.

Varied angled DVD boxes showing the DVD inside sticking. DVD inserted in the round affixation in the case. DVD cases with two DVDs inside.

Special Report actions with transparency front cover plastic page.

An action to allow import of past created CAP DVD boxes that would nicely arrange all images for presentation on a web page.

    Testimonials graphics to allow customization.

Youtube player skin that is simple and easy to customize and use. And that will allow for all sizes of video including widescreen HD format.

  43. Paul says:

How about books, pamphlets and magazines in landscape orientation? Some manuals are printed that way.

    Thanks

  44. Joel Marion says:

    Stationary Category:

An action for Quick Reference Cards (About the size of a 1/2 sheet of paper in real life)

An action for Checklists (full sheet of paper in real life)

    Those would be great additions!

    :)

Thanks and love CAP Version 1; can’t wait for version 2!

    Joel

  45. Rich C. says:

    Mark,

I actually emailed you about this a while back, and even put a job up on one of the freelance sites (but no takers)..

Would LOVE to have a Vinyl LP Action! You know..old style vinyl LP peeking out of a cover. Maybe even a set - single LP and double LP - they’re making a comeback you know!

  46. Actions that create animated spinning covers. I currently use a flash script to create them and it’s sort of a pain to do. I would love some actions that use Photoshop animation instead for all covers.

  47. Nancy H says:

It sounds like you have some excellent new actions on the way.

It would be great if you had some CD covers that match dimensions used for packaging at Kunaki, so we wouldn’t have to create 2 versions. Thanks for asking.

  48. Audrey says:

I would like the background to be transparent. Some of my affiliates have Web sites with colored backgrounds and the cover graphic looks cheap with the white background.

  49. webgoddess says:

    Hey Mark,

Here are some samples of “testimonials” that would work nicely with a good action script:

    http://www.forcedmoney.com/images_letter/testimonial-02.jpg

    http://www.topsecretmagiccode.com/images_letter/testimonial-01.jpg

  50. Open flap box cover.

  51. John Williamson says:

    Hi Mark,

    1) How about Actions for booklets and brochures, A5 size, and one-third A4?

A lot of info-product marketers create booklets for sale and licensing - because they are relatively quick to create, don’t require the sustained effort of writing an ebook or book, and can be high volume sales items. But, as far as I’m aware, there aren’t any cover actions for them.

    2) I echo the earlier request for tri-fold leaflets and brochures.

    3) And I would also like to see Actions that produce covers in A4/A3/A5 etc., sizes.

    4) I’m very keen to see Actions for illustrating open magazines or Lesson booklets of ecourses.

    5) With CAP1, I was a little disappointed that the comb-bound report covers couldn’t be grouped without the comb ‘erasing’ the cover beneath it. I hope that will be addressed in the next release.

    6) I have just received Photoshop Secrets and am delighted with it. Truly excellent content. Congratulations!

However, one problem I’ve found with watching video tutorials is that it’s not always clear what ‘buttons are being pressed’ by the tutor - and also, some of the terms being used are not explained.

Would it be possible to produce notes to accompany each video just defining any terms used and listing the steps used in each process?

I’m not asking for a detailed description of each video, because some of the processes are repeated anyway. But outline notes would be helpful in clarifying just what steps are being employed for any particular process - and would be a great reference for when we are trying to do something without having to run the tutorial video alongside all the time.

I’m really looking forward to the release of CAP2.

    Regards,

    John

  52. cristina saxon says:

    Hello,

I’m wondering if there is an action for a wall calendars…typical 8×10. I saw a comment here about brochures, those are things that I will need too.

Please let me know where I can purchase these actions.

    Thanks,
    cristina

  53. CJ says:

I agree with some of the other comments, a big 3 ring binder, a small 3 ring binder, but also a possibility of a 3 ring binder with being able to use 10 cd/dvds for affiliate marketing of various digital products, and here is an idea although if may not fit in but since I noticed you had Cards & Brochures (Stationary) how about business cards and even banner ads of varying sizes, banner ads would be really useful.

    Thanks

  54. Kimberly Jensen says:

I think this is a wonderful idea!

    I have a list…its easier this way.

    Bags…all shapes and sizes
    Cups
    mugs
    Bottles
stress ball and Other promo items
    open magazine layout
    bus stop benches
    billboards
    enviromental things
    lamp post
    pens

I’m not sure what you have already but all this would be great to have.

    Thank you.

  55. John Williamson says:

    Hi Mark,

Three-ring binders are used in the USA and Canada, but in the UK and the rest of Europe we use four-ring binders.
The four ring binders also have different spine widths.

    Regards,

    John

  56. Vee says:

Mark, we love the actions and have them all thus far, and would like to know if the following request fits into the categories you have developed. We do product package design and development and would love to have some pyramid or triangular shaped boxes, point of sale (POP Cards), shopping bags, stand-up pouches, cylinder and square tins, 5×5 greeting cards and envelopes … etc

Could this be something you would consider?

    Thanks

  57. John Wiseman says:

    Hey Mark,

Some actions that I would also like to have would be the placement of labels on cylindrical items.

    12oz Coke can size
    24oz Monster can drink size
    Coffee mug
    Wine bottles
    Beverage drinking glass

So, maybe at some point in the future I will be able to say “Thank You” by buying you a virtual drink served out of my private label stock. LOL :D OK, maybe a cup of coffee.

    Thanks buddy,
    Great work,

    John

  58. Ken says:

How about a cover action that will show a client how a logo or design might look on a silk screened t-shirt? Many projects encompass the logo, program, and event t-shirts for my business.

  59. Erick says:

Well I am a FLash developer too so when you said that this plugin is made in action script it would be cool if you can offer the actionscript files to the plugin ometing like a tutorial on how making a plugin like that.

    Thanks

  60. Sonu says:

How about action for Printing and Making Calendars and DVD’s and cd’s on a rack.

  61. Josh says:

Hi Mark (And team, I think)

Something I’d like to see, that would fit into the magazines section, an open magazine for those of us who do two-page layouts. I don’t know if anybody else has suggested this, I couldn’t read all of the comments, but this would be great, if at all possible.

    Thanks.

  62. Ana says:

How about an action to show how the design might look on a vehicle, like a van or truck? I think this is the only thing not mentioned before. I look forward for this amazing product!

  63. cg says:

DVD and CD case etc - the option to have them ‘closed’ so we can stack them high on top of each other - or file them on a ‘bookcase’ with the spine showing - or if there’s 10 dvds in a case with the front of the first one showing and then the other are packed into the case with the spines showing.

When they’re ‘open’ it’s harder to do.

Like the 2 page magazine spread idea.

  64. Thomas Stahl says:

What about the a German or an international version?
Or will it be also limited to English Version of Photoshop?

  65. Ralf says:

    Hi Mark;
I’m from Germany (sorry for my bad English!)
    i have a question:
    I’m a Coveractionpro1.4 user and what i need is f.i. like this:
    http://fc56.deviantart.com/fs21/f/2007/255/4/a/_experimental_CD_Cover_by_adrenn.jpg
    what i need is a cd-backside!

the front is pretty good and i need the same with the back!
for cd and of course for dvd:

    CD Booklet:

    CD Back:

    DVD:
    http://s3b.directupload.net/images/090217/gg7pyww3.jpg

    3 pix in the attach

    with other words:
what is new in version 2?

maybe some previews for cap 2

    thank you

    btw.:
a german version is welcome ;)

  66. N. Hass says:

    Hey,

@Thomas Stahl: ich nutze die deutsche Version Photoshop und das kostelose Beispiel lief perfekt. Also darf man davon ausgehen, dass die anderen auch laufen werden :-)

To Marc: great product. I am waiting for release! So, hurry up ;-)

  67. Rajaie AlKorani says:

Just happened to find your blog/product today, and I have to say that I’m glad I did!

Hehe, I always wondered how these Internet marketing products all created their covers :)

  68. H2S says:

I would like to see a bow tie and ribbon to add on top of a box for special sales during the holidays.

  69. John Williamson says:

    Hi Mark,

I appreciate you must have a massive to-do list by now, but do you have any idea of a likely release date for CAP2?
I’m really excited about the prospect of getting my hands on it. ;-)

    John W

  70. Amy says:

Can you make it so that if you put a stripe all the way across the product it doesn’t go off alignment on the spine? Like on the original paperback book, the side doesn’t line up properly when you run the action, and the stripe doesn’t continue all the way around properly. That’s my one big gripe with the original CAP.

  71. Ralf says:

    Hi Mark;
found this “Coverflow” i think it is a good idea to create a dvd-front.
what do you think about this:

    Hey Marc,

i wonder why it is so quite around your new projekt? How much time we do have to wait? ;-)

By the way, i own you Photoshop Top Secrets. Very phantastic. You are a real pro. But why is you own page so “normal”?

    Meth

  73. webgoddess says:

@Amy - I’m pretty sure he fixed that issue in the latest release of CAP 1

  74. Josh says:

    Hi Marc,

Can you confirm, for existing members, do they get the upgrade to version 2 with all these extras?

Also, I think the one thing that really stands out as not available at the moment is an open dvd case with the dvd still in the case. (With graphics on both the dvd case cover and also on the dvd face itself) I think this would be a great one to add.

  75. Les Cote says:

    Hi Mark,

A four fold laminated study document version would be helpful. These are the ones that are used for science, math, history, ect..

  76. Marc Taylor says:

Being able to select the depth of a book magazine would be good, i noticed the Ebook in CAP1 are real thick. Also imnot sure if they have been mentioned before but also maybe

standard tri fold leaflets stood up
    Z fold lealfets sttod up

    Hi mark

    Sorry been away.

Yes, I do sell drinks for wholesalers, most are juice glass drinks and others are health ones but could never get templates to create my own. No worries if you cannot do them for this set.

Comic sizes, as one page - 6.625×10.25inches, I do minicomic 5×8inches and I do 6×9inches. Again, if you can great but if you don’t have time or cannot be included, well, no probs.

I’m still going to get CAP2

Anyway, great work mate and thanks.

Hi Mark…first of all, let me just say that I’m a great fan of you and all your work you’ve done so far. I’m a photoshop level beginner who just pasionates about Design and wants to be a Pro Designer, who knows, like you someday, lol!

OK! second, let’s get down to the point now, it’s about a DVD cover if you can see if you can do, but better than this one, here’s an example of the cover, go there

    So now you know…
If I got more ideas or seen something that really interested, I’ll leave a comment

I’m looking forward for your last product CAP2.0

keep it up and have a nice day ;)

  80. Lorilei says:

    HI Mark
Hope it’s not to late to add something to the list! I would love to see a square hardcover book. In the digital scrapbooking industry we make scrap layouts that are commonly 8×8 and 12×12 and have books printed at places like Shutterfly.com. To show the book covers I sell in a cover action format would be great.

  81. Joe Friedman says:

As I do food packaging.. A script for a plastic or foilbag, (like potato chips, snacks, paper products) Flat artwork just does not cut it - when showing a client I always add a filter or two to make it look realistic.. a good script would be perfect.

  82. Pete says:

Try this one if you can. How about a print screen image. simply ad a background, the print screen images, and additional graphics. Then it would be a professional print screen with reflection/shadowing. one for small, medium, large

    See link for an example:http://livehelp.stardevelop.com/index.htm

  83. Pete says:

You could even have an optional 3d frame around the print screen images to make it look like it is somewhat thicker than a sheet of paper. like a thin picture frame. somthing to give it substance..

  84. Mark says:

Wendy :: Thank you, great idea. I’ll see if we have room for it.

Jim :: I like the suggestions.

John :: I’ll get busy on that one right away.

Paul :: Thanks, We have it covered.

Sharyn :: So your saying not necessarily an Action that creates a cover but Actions that perform other tastes in Photoshop that save you time. Yes absolutely, although would be a specialized Pack later.

Damon :: Thanks for the examples!

Lucky B :: Interesting, let me think about it.

Bob :: There will be plenty of Serious covers to choose from. Just remember that how it looks will depend on the design, not necessarily the cover. You’ll have many to choose from. But I agree with you, we need more Life-like cover models.

T., Mike, Rob :: All these are good if we have enough demand for them and how often they will be used.

Webgoddess :: I agree. We have had many requests for this so I will include some Actions with the smaller ring. Anyone else agree? Let me know.

Paul N, Sarah H :: Yes, there will definitely be some of these in the collection.

Brad R. :: Thanks for the feedback, Yes, we will definitely have the brochures like you mentioned. I will look into the various thicknesses. Great portfolio.

Doug S :: Thanks for all this. This is the kind of feedback I need. Your examples make a huge difference as there are so many different perspectives out there. I’ll be working on the CD hole.

    Matt :: Awesome, thanks!

Chad :: I agree. I’m working on covers that belong in the same environment so they don’t look strange when combined. Hopefully the bundle Actions will take care most of this.

The Bundle Actions will make a Home Study Course automatically for you. But you can remove covers you don’t want and move them around. For example if you render a 4 DVD bundle but only need 3 DVD’s, then you can remove the 4th one by making that layer invisible.

Yes, there will be a discount for users of CAP1. Shirts?

David :: Great ideas. I’ve been working on the testimonial graphics. Funny you mentioned that, I figured they would come in handy.

:: All great ideas, and some have been already created in the set.

Rich C. :: Yes. Great for a specialized Action Set. I would love to make something like this.

Animation Requests :: There will probably not be any Actions that produce Animation frames in CAP2 but creating a stand alone Action pack in the future might be an idea.

Cover Flipping :: OK. I’ll see what I can do about the flipping, it is possible and I think it can be done without putting too much downtime on the production deadline.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. It has helped us greatly!

    -Mark

  85. Mark says:

John W :: There will be A4 sizes. I will look into A5 if we have room! Tri-fold brochures are finished. Open magazines are finished.

Cristina :: ok, thanks for the idea on the Calendar. Yes, you will love what I have put together for brochures.

CJ :: Yes, we still have some work to do in this section. I will keep these binders in mind. Business cards have been taken care of.

    Kimberly :: Thanks!

John W. :: Thanks for letting me know. Big help.

Vee :: Great ideas. For Pyramid shapes do you mean something like this? > http://www.favourcompany.com/images/Pyramid%20Boxes%202.JPG

John Wiseman :: Yes these shapes are highly requested but will be available as a specialized Action pack, sold separately.

Ken :: Again, clothing Actions will be sold separately after CAP2 is released.

Sonu :: Thanks for the ideas.

Josh :: Yes CAP2 will include exactly what you have described.

Ana :: Ha! Very cleaver. Let me sleep on it.

CG :: Sounds great. There will be some stacked DVD and CDs in CAP2 and I will also keep your other requests in my notes. Thanks!

Thomas Stahl :: Yes. CAP2 will work in German and most International versions of Photoshop.
